The 'qie zi' effect

Yesterday = lunch with my class & teachers = photo time!

OK, ready? Yi-er-san.... say "qieeeeeeeziiiiiii".......... What?! No one said anything?!??!

Again guys: yi-er-san: QIE ZI!!! Here we go! Well done guys!

And the winner is.... my Korean class mate!!! This is, by far, the best qie-zi effect I've seen.

Lesson learned: in China you say 'qie zi' (eggplant) instead of cheese when being photographed.... (they should start doing that too in Colgate commercials!?) Oh, and don't forget to do the v-sign!

  1. hehe! Smart. Besides, my all time favourite Chinese dish in China is yu xiang qie zi, you have to order it although is pretty fattening because it is made in lots of oil...

    but soooooooo good.

  3. Once when I was in Beijing and wanted to take a photograph. I asked a little kid to help me, and then he asked "Beijing meili bu meili?" I and my ex-gf answered almost simultaneously "meili" (which was intended so that we looked like we smiled, just like the purpose of saying cheese, or qiezi.. )
