Whoa whoa whoa...
What a wake-up call! When I turned on my computer this morning and realized that I had 60 new blog followers and 49 new comments I figured it couldn't just be just a coincidence. Then I read all the comments and realized my blog has been elected as a 'blog of note' by the blogger team. Cheers for that!! And cheers for all the comments and emails I have received! I have deleted some advertisement/ spam but most of your comments were nice ones! So cheers (again) for all of that!
I really enjoy living in China and keeping this blog, so I hope all the new people who've found their way here will enjoy reading about my daily encounters. I try to update on a daily basis. Stay tuned.

I'm going to be one of your new followers as well! I'm a Chinese-Canadian currently living in Vancouver -- although I just moved back here a few months ago from my five-year stint of teaching up in the Canadian Arctic.
I would very much love to go to China and learn about my own cultural heritage. In the meantime, I love your blog!
Actually ur blog really worth noticing :)
I didn't read much yet, I had a look at ur website as well... it is very interesting the way u live and being a freelancer, does the job bring enough money for living?!
It is amazing when u work the job u like and in the same time it turns ur life to be more interesting!
Cheers... keep the hard work... keep posting
take care!
I'm delighted for you!
p.s Don't forget us when you're a famous author!
你的blog有意思。我也学中文,可是我不说很好。
Congratulations!
In response to your profile information...I too am extremely obsessed with moving around. I'm trying to decide where to ship myself off to next, somewhere in Asia or Africa.
...actually I'm so indecisive that I've opened it to a vote on my blog. Help forge my path through life and tell me where I should go!
-Savantage.
btw I'm now following your blog. China was on my list for next fall, but I think I'll save it for later.
hi there
there is no coincidence!...
u know ...there is positif energy inside u!..heheh
always be positive..be happy...always says thanx to urself&everybody & gratitute to ur life...absolute!...
Hi Jonna, I read your profile and that's awesome that you get to experience living in so many different countries. I plan on doing the same with my family either once my son gets older or downright moves out. I have some friends from Stockholm and elsewhere in Sweden - great place, but a bit cold for my liking. Keep sharing your experiences - it'll prepare me for my plan on living in several different countries one day!
Little Tiger -hahahaha, u r so funny! I think 'famous author' will always be a far-fetched dream only. Also, in order for that to even have a chance to come through I'd actually have to write a book first :)
Oh, and how could I forget my most frequent/one of my fave commenter? Nah, ain't gonna happen!
I haven't checked your blog in a while and this is what I come back to? Congratz!
Maybe you should mention it as one of your achievements in your job application ;)
Oh yeah, happy new year btw!
Fascinating blog! How do you afford to live in so many places? Do you find work there?
I found as many others have, through blog of note. I just wanted to tell you how much I admire what you are doing. Everyone in my family is adopted, and my sister is Chinese! It is nice to see how beautiful it is
Congrats & well done. How lucky that you can live & experience different countries and culture.
Me myself is Indonesian Chinesse live in Australia with my Finnish hubbie. We always want to travel to China and other part of the world, but it hasn't happened yet :(
I will definitely follow your blog.
Sarasophia -thanks!! It's all out there -just go and explore :)
Vivacemusica -u should come to China. I bet you would love it. Quite different to the Canadian arctic though... especially during the sultry summers of Shanghai. One thing I miss about living here is the wonderful Scandinavian air (I bet Canada is a lot like Scandinavia -season wise) but well, I guess u cannot have it all!
Lamma Helwa -thanks, I'm not working a.t.m... just learning Chinese. It is a full-time job itself!
Pingu -hehe, thanks! Happy New Year to u too! And oh, that job application.. I almost forgot ;)
Maynard -Thanks! I worked in London, studied (and worked) in Australia, worked in Finland and studied and worked in China.. so yeah. Been working at every place. Currently I am only studying though.
makeshiftspaces -thanks for that kind comment!
Fabriana -Finnish hubby?! hehe. Then I am sure we have some common experiences of the Finns :) I assume you've been to Finland? How did you find it? Quite a change to Australia I would say... :)
Hi Jonna, no, I haven't been to Finland. I'd like to go there sooner rather than later. Really want to take my boys to see their great grandmom. She is 90 something. If everything is OK, we'd like to go next year.
Anyway, where about in OZ did you work & study?
Your blog seems really interesting and since I live in japan, I thought it would be nice to know a bit about China, too, since it's so close. I love traveling and learning about other cultures so I'm looking forward to reading about your antics ;)
That explains all of the new comments.
Gratz Jonna.
nice, not everyday you will be a blogger stars... lols nice to meet you!
Love your blog and I love China. What part are you in? We were in Nanning last March. I miss China so much and wish we could go back.
I'm a new subscriber... also due to your listing as a Blog of Note. I am an adoptive mother to an almost-five-year-old daughter who was born in western Jiangxi Province. Nice to "meet" you.
And I take Mandarin (as does my daughter), but my teachers label me "enthusiastic," which of course is code for "terrible at it, but we like you anyway."
I also stumbled across your blog as a blog of note. What I have seen so far has been pretty cool. Keep up the good work!
你真的会说好听的话啊! :)
I used to follow a super blog of an American guy who lived in Korea and China, until he tragically committed suicide. When he moved from Korea to China, he started a new blog and made his old Korea posts into a book and sold it on his new site!(chinalife.typepad.com)
So of course you are an author, because you already have a book written. An e-book if you will!
Hi

Good on ya! Where in Australia did you live?
Suzer
Suzer & Febriana -I lived in Perth for 3.5 years... 2 years in Freo and 1 year on south terrace (if I remember things correctly?) just off the CBD of Perth... next to the Swan River. Loved it! Gosh I miss Australia!!
Congratulations! It is well deserved.
Does this woman in the picture have any significance to you? Do you know her?
For a long time, and still am, hoping to also become a "traveling gnome". However, I believe finishing school and earning some money first is in order. However, there is a chance that I will get the wonderful opportunity to visit Ireland next summer.
I hope your adventures continue to be inspiring and stimulating for you! :)
If you have any pointers for a traveling novice please share! :)
burning Desire -the woman in the picture is just a beautiful, old woman I saw one day when I was walking around.. she looked so happy, and didn't she make a gorgeous pic?
When I grew up I always had a desire to leave Sweden, I am not sure why, but it was just there. So, throughout high school I worked part-time at Mc Donalds (the only job available when u are 16 years old I believe!) and when I graduated I had enough cash to go to London, where I continued working... yeah, it's a good idea to finish school first and then just... go to places that interests you.
Congrats!!!!
Thanks for answering me! Yes, she made such a wonderful photo.
I also worked at McDonalds but not because I was earning money to travel. I don't even think when I was 16 I was as interested in it as I am now. London is definitely in my long list of places to go and would love to visit it very soon. Perhaps after Ireland? Lets hope.
Thank you again. Keep the blogs coming!
I just discovered your blog as well! I love your stories! I can relate a lot to your experiences with Chinese language. I visited China few summers back and even though I studied mandarin for 3 years, I could barely communicate. Everyday felt like a bad day. Props to you for living there though!
i found your blog because of the "blog of note" :)
i like reading your adventures and your style is very personal and readable
i have a few schoolmates from china and sometimes i see their same behavior here :-D
keep up the good work!
