Autumn morning walk
South Sweden's "Torup" at its best Where running 10 km becomes a pleasure This forest is actually located next to a castle called "Torup." Quite beautiful in general with wild deers running freely around the castle area.
Little Tiger -what's stopping you?! :) But hurry, visit now before winter hits us... I've heard this year's winter is going to be long and cold... :/ Actually, the best time to visit would be summer :)
Anonymous -I hope you have a good time when you go! The nature over here is great, the big cities aren't really "big" compared to big cities around the world, and they are not the best fun, but the nature is great! :)
What's stopping me is the lack of funds ¬_¬. I just graduated and I'm still looking for a job (thanks Mr.recession). So as soon as I get some money together I'll be heading over for a weekend trip. First, I'd like to visit your hood to see the 'turning torso' (one of the reasons I studied Engineering) and then go to Stockholm. I'm really interested in fashion (the stuff that actually looks good, not the catwalk fashion) so to go to the home of H&M is so exciting!! oh,can't wait to try some Swedish meatballs too!!! I'd like to go during the winter though, to see some snow. I don't think the cold will be a problem. If I can survive a winter in Harbin I think I can handle one in Sweden :)
Hey Jonna, as far as i read on ur blog ur keeping track of pages that 'steal' ur content. I kinda accidentaly stumbled upon another page that used ur western girl + asian guy content lol
Nice posts u have i check ur blog each day, since im having a chinese boyfriend im getting kinda interesting in the whole chinese culture thing a lot. Ur blog is a nice source lol
Brad -yeah, got to love the forest. Nothing beats a morning forest walk... ahhhh!
Little Tiger -I hear you... I think Mr Recession has annoyed quite a few of us... So u like the torso!? haha! I actually visited some flats inside the Torso while it was still in its finalizing stage... (I was writing an article about it for a Taiwanese design magazine) The west harbour area of Malmö (where the Turning Torso is located) is actually quite nice, there are also some nightclubs and restos over there that aren't too bad. Oh, and if you are a H&M fan you're going to LOOOOOOVE Sweden.. there's an H&M in every corner of those big cities. Only in Malmö I think there are 7 or 8 stores (don't quote me on that one though), and none of them are small.
And you are right, if you had no problems in Harbin you are probably going to enjoy a winter in Sweden too.
As for the meatballs, I still vote for making your own rather than eating them at a restaurant/ buying them from the groocery store. Anyways, when u eat them, don't forget the potatoes, the brown sauce and the lingon berry. That's half of the deal :)
Anyways, I'm looking forward to hearing about your experiences when u eventually go!
Monika -that article I've actually given them permission to publish. I used to keep in touch with the old editor for China Travel, so she asked first.. but hey, thanks anyways for pointing it out!
Glad to hear you enjoy my blog! Let me know if there's anything special you'd like me to blog about. It's always good to get ideas/inspiration from others!
10km? Did you really run that far. I've been to some natural reserved areas here, they are beautiful, with a totally different style compare to China. And one time I trapped in a swamp, all my clothes were wet after I managed to get out. That was fun. But I wouldn't run 10km, maybe 2km is OK for me : )
It seems you love to practice in nature very much. Then I have a recommend for you. Several years ago I joined a group to ride bicycle from Chengdu to Lhasa. But I had cold in half way, then have to quit. The breath-taking view along the road gave me a extremely deep impression, I plan to do that again in future. I give you a link from another group cycling to Lhasa, you can take a look.http://www.tianya.cn/publicforum/Content/free/1/1495972.shtml Since they went there in 2008 May, there are some photo about earth quake stroke city. Be careful of the shocking view.
I want to visit Sweden so bad!!!
ReplyDeleteJonna, Sweden is nice. Thank you for posting this. I plan to visit Sweden.
ReplyDeleteReally nice looking area. I miss forests like that.

Beautiful Just Beautiful !!!
ReplyDeleteCheers for that Jonna. It seems I'll have to budget some extra money for over weight baggage if there are that many H&M stores!!
ReplyDeletePete -I agree :)
ReplyDeleteLittle Tiger -U sure do. Although the great thing about H&M is that it's not that expensive...

马麟 -yeah I love nature... running 10 km isn't a biggy for me, especially not if running in a beautiful forest like that! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the tip about the bike ride. I'm not as much in love with biking as I am with running, but who knows... :)
