To blog or not to blog
Long time no blogpost. Very unlike me, I know, but let's blame the Christmas frenzy. 2010 is around the corner and I am still in Sweden, breathing wonderful fresh air and eating my way to a somewhat heavier New Year (the side effects of the swine flu vaccination have worn off and I’m now making up for potential eating losses). For the last 6 months I’ve been thinking about this blog and about what I want to do with it. When I started blogging I loved it. Lately, however, I have not felt as inspired. Since I only want to deliver quality blog post and not just blog for the sake of blogging I’m not sure if I’ll continue blogging in 2010. I’ll probably decide once I’m back to China, sometime around Jan 5. Would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year! All the best to you!
Enjoy your New Year Jonna! Whatever you decide, it's been great reading your blog!

I have to say your blog is definitely one of my top 3 in my reading list. It has been absolutely joy to read your blog and I love it very much.
ReplyDeleteWell, Happy New Year and Best Wishes in 2010.
Whatever you decide to do Jonna (To blog or not to blog? -That's the question), I really enjoy(ed) reading every single entry :) Don't think blogging is an obligation to all of your fans and readers, it's just something you must like to do!
ReplyDeleteHave a véry happy new year!
Jonna!
ReplyDeleteI use to have a blog a long time ago and I was subscribed to you.
But, I love your blog especially because it is very helpful to me as an incoming international studies student. I'll be done with my basics this year going to school in the U.S. But depending on what happens when etc. I'll be going to school in China in late 2010 or 2011 school year.
I just wanted to say your blog is great! Happy New Years!
oh, very sorry to read this! :'(
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed logging on to your blog everyday for the past year and a half or so. I believe that all good things must come to an end and everything comes to a natural end sooner or later. Thank a million for all the well written articles and funny observations.
Can I make a suggestion though?
I really enjoy reading the Chinese blogs on Sina Blog (新浪博客) (http://blog.sina.com.cn/lm/rank/index.html) and it does wonders for my Chinese because the language used is day-to-day and not language found in some textbook.
So my suggestion is, using vocab and sentence patterns borrowed from various Chinese blogs, to start blogging in.....Chinese?
Oh I forgot....Happy New Year and 万事如意!
ReplyDeletehappy New year...
ReplyDeletewish you have a random update and let us know your news sometimes...
wish you have a great 2010
Dear Jonna,
ReplyDeleteit does not matter how your decision is going to be, I just want to mention:
It has been always a great pleasure to follow your blog!! These random daily-life stories from China have regularly made my day:)
Plus, you kind of inspired me to write a blog for myself when I am coming back to Shanghai next year.
I am wishing you a great, joyful and happy 2010!
Katharina
Hey guys, thanks for all your comments!! Let's see how the new year turns out. Maybe I'll do what some people suggested and post occasionally rather than every day. Let's see how inspired I feel. Regardless of what it will be a completely different year that won't be dominated by learning Chinese anymore.
ReplyDeleteLittle Tiger -sorry, but my written Chinese still lacks.. I would never want to put myself out there and write a blog in Chinese. However, I have a suggestion for you.... DO IT! I would love to read!
Your blog is one of the most well written ones concerning life in China. I read it religiously, please don't stop blogging. As a overseas Chinese American, I live vicariously through you!
ReplyDeleteHey, I don't know what to say about your decision. I'd love to read your blog, but if you feel this is not interesting any more or interrupt your life, maybe it's a good idea to stop.
ReplyDeleteHope you can achieve your target in new year.
I plan to start one when I move back to China later on this year (of course each post will be proof read by my Chinese teacher before hand). I'll be sure to email you the link when its up and running. :)
ReplyDeleteWe all go through dry spells and I have asked myself MANY times why on earth do I spend so much of my spare time on blogging instead of living! But I think you'll change your mind when you are back in China and there will be so many things to write about.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I don't mind anymore if you stop blogging since you'll be in Shanghai and I can just hear about your life directly from you!
Thanks for all the comments and greetings. I just decided I'll continue blogging... yup. I had lunch with my family and they reminded me how much I love writing. So here comes yet another year of blogging.
ReplyDeleteLittle tiger -U r moving to China?!!! Yey! Finally! Where?
Woai -You'll get the inside goss over a few martinis only!
Yes, I know....my move back to China is long overdue! I have an interview for the Shanghai Expo but the salary is a bit low so I'm not sure if I'll accept it (that's if I get offered the job).
ReplyDeleteHarbin is still calling me and my friend wants me to join her in Taipei. So who knows where I'll end up in the end!! Most probably Harbin though :)))
Dear Jonna,
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. It is funny, bright and really entertaining. Please don`t stop writing it!
Have a happy new year:)
Regards, Juci
