Some funny shots from Yunnan

Need to hire an ayi? Why not try someone from Dali's "ceaning hoes?"

A pimped bike in Dali

I've never seen as many sex toy shops anywhere in China as I saw in Lijiang. Seriously, there was one in every corner? Got to love their discreet translation "adult thing."

And then, some toilet concepts:

One of the many toilet without doors we experienced

(Blurry shot, I know) In case you'd like to have a cigarette AND/or watch some TV while having a toilet moment to yourself? -Public toilet in Lijiang.

Interesting toilet concept at one of our hotels. Pull the curtain for some privacy

Actually, the TV/ashtray combo is a good idea. Sometimes I like to relax and settle in for a while to make things... go smoothly. Typically I bring my iPhone and read though.

As for the glass wall in the last photo, I think that's meant to be sexy, so you can watch your partner be kinky in the shower for you, while you wait for her on the bed. Or maybe join her?

HI JONA, I was curious to see your blog, I have been in Lijiang and loved the city all the way, for me one of the most authentic places in China, i was also attracted for the restaurantes ant the girls all dressed up outside the doors dancing and inviting the clients inside.... it was fun....!

Jonna that last shot with the see through bathroom, is very typical of love hotels in Japan. You were probably staying in one and didn't know it.

Actually I was staying in a brand new 5 star Ritz hotel in Shanghai, and it also hade the see through bathroom configuration, although it hade a electric controlled blinds instead of curtain to hide your privacy when you choose to, haha.

TFHK -Yeah, peeing in front of others isn't my fave thing to do either...

Keats -I know, it's cute isn't it!

Brad -I thought the ashtray was disgusting. Smoking and toilet don't mix for me. TV was a nice touch though!

Helena -glad to hear u liked Lijiang. I guess I didn't go to the right parts of the town. Oh well.

Mantse -really?? I have never seen that kind of loo before?! Both me and mom thought it was hilarious.

Phoenixkidd -Japanese??! What kind of weird toilet-show-off is going on there?! Haha! I really wonder what the purpose is.

Your pictures were quite amusing. Open toilets or transparent ones are totoally scary. lol. Countries where English is not among the main languages always have some funny signboards. It's no different in India, although English is far more commonly spoken here than in China. Signboards for restaurants and menu cards are especially creative. You'll see 'cutlace' (cutlets), painapple, and even Kentacky chicken.
