First time for everything
Oh my, I think I might have just failed my first exam, ever...?! The grammar exam was OK but the listening exam?! eh... well not in this lifetime. I didn't recognize about 50% of the characters.. sure, we were allowed to use our dictionaries, but that doesn't help when U have no time to use it... Too much content, too much new stuff, and too little time. As a result, I am 99,9% sure I failed. Let's just hope some of my smart-looking classmates were as lost as me. Example of one task: listen to a radio news story about how an epidemic, like SARS, spread from Africa to Asia... and then summarize its main points. (completely new vocab). Another one: listen to what old people can do to improve their eye-sight, also a vocab I am not quite familiar with... Well well. We all have to fail sometimes, I just HATE sitting in a classroom feeling like a dumb ass! We weren't even allowed to prepare for this exam, as its content was not related to our course material. Nice one!!! OK, that was a little rant that I had to get out of my system. Now: prepare for tomorro's exam.

You should feel lucky that they did not use Jay Chou's song for your listening test.
maybe.. although I am not sure if it possible could have been worse/harder than it already was... :)
Well, have a bit of confidence in you and finger-crossed. I hated exams as well when in school but tried to keep myself excited no matter the results. Maybe in the future you need spend more time listening around to catch more Chinese vocab, or more gossiping but in Chinese...while keeping your blog running. I won't say you fail an exam but fail on some new words only. Some new vocab I have to catch up each time in China to avoid being outdated.
SARS spread from Africa to China/ I told ya. Expect propaganda while learning your Mandarin in China.
I just had one exam this morning
I have a very very bad feeling about it, going to fail somehow……
at least we are
good good study, day day up
